Colon health: enemas & colonics are not the same! Dr. Richard T. Bosshardt explains the major differences between colonics & enemas. In this article he also explains that the theory behind colonic cleansing relies on several fallacious assumptions. In general: colon health is not complicated; try to consume 25 to 35 grams of fiber a day from fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and drink enough water so that the urine is relatively clear. More than that is not necessary for most of us. |

While enemas involve instilling a small amount of fluid into the rectum, then expelling it. Colonics involve large amounts of fluid directed through a long hose to wash out the entire colon.
Another major difference between colonics & enemas is that enemas are usually self-administered, and colonics are usually handled by paramedical individuals or technicians. Read more about how this topic was featured at Oprah Winfrey & Dr. Oz. LEARN THE BASICS OF A HEALTHY COLON: |
